Last week, one task that was on our Spring-cleaning list was to dispose of the plastic bottles that have been collected over the past 3 months. Taking care of the environment is important to us, so we bring our plastic bottles to the recycling center as often as we can. It’s also a nice reward to get $20 (or more!) which I can then use for my crafts.
While I was sorting the plastic bottles into a bag, I saw all of the colorful lids from the juice containers and thought of an idea: try to create a paint palette! I took 7 small lids, 1 medium lid, and 1 large lid. The large lid was from a mixed-nuts container and was the perfect size to use as the base.
After washing the lids with soap and water, I used a glue gun to attach the smaller lids around the medium lid and into the larger lid. It only took 5 minutes to dry and the project was done!
The paint palette is easy to use, especially when I only need small amounts of acrylic paint. Additionally, this can be used for other items aside from paint. I plan to make more palettes for beads, tiny buttons and spacers I use when making jewelries!
Take a look at the result below:
It’s been so much fun and easy to make! Now I can make more in different color variations, they are totally useful!
