Affordable Ideas to Reinvent Your Bathroom Space

Affordable Ideas to Reinvent Your Bathroom Space

The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in one’s home. It’s easy to get immersed in your living room and bedroom décor and design, but, at the end of the day, it’s equally essential that you feel as cozy and comfortable in your bathroom as well. After all, your bathroom is a place where you want to relax and get some fulfilling “alone” time just for yourself. However, redecorating and redesigning your bathroom can be quite expensive. Unless you have a proper plan and some cost-effective ideas of course. With that in mind, take a look at some of the affordable options you have.

Repaint, use wallpaper or play with tiles

This is definitely one of the simplest things you can do in order to spice up the look of your bathroom. A fresh coat of paint can do wonders for any room, and the process can be really cost-effective if you do it yourself. Moreover, you can add some interesting details with patterned, self-adhesive vinyl wallpaper. Finally, we all know that tiles can be really expensive, but you don’t have to replace them all. If you’re satisfied with the look and design of your bathroom tiles currently, just replace those that are chipped and broken. On the other hand, you can replace just a couple of tiles with new ones that have an intricate design to make the whole layout more personal and richer.

Get rid of the clutter

If you’ve never dealt with decluttering before, you’re not even aware of the fact just how much this practice can transform your space. Not to mention your own perception and feeling regarding that space. And, as we all know, the bathroom is usually filled with stuff that you don’t need, like or use, and, more often than not, empty beauty products. So, take the time to check everything you have stored there. Think about how old some products are and how often you use them. Is it worth to keep them? Get rid of anything that you don’t like, that’s used up and/or doesn’t work well for your skin. That way you’ll be left with beauty stuff you’re actually happy to use and can easily grab when in the bath or shower.

Utilize the space for storage

Now that you’ve decluttered the things that you don’t need, it’s time to organize your bathroom properly. So, what can you do if you simply don’t have enough cabinets and storage space? The first option is to install floating shelves on bare walls. Remember, you can always utilize the bottom of the shelf as well by using hooks and even a glue. Speaking of hooks, you can get plenty of cheap and interesting ones that will hold your towels more efficiently. Moreover, you can always add vacuum suction shelves inside your shower/bath for more storage options, or hang a storage rack on your bathroom doors. Finally, if you have more space in your bathroom, or at least empty space under the sink, make the most out of it. Add a shelf or a cabinet, or repurpose something you otherwise don’t use in this area.

Repair and replace

Of course, you probably don’t want to try  to fix your bidet and repair your plumbing system on your own. And, if you don’t need repairs and fixes in this area, that’s great. On the other hand, it’s pretty easy to replace old bathroom fixtures and faucets, as well as a toilet seat. Such small and cost-effective changes can still make a world of difference for your bathroom. Of course, if your bathroom is dirty and grimy you have to clean the grout and add some new caulk around your tub and sink. Again, pretty cheap. However, if you have a pretty serious issue where your tub is truly past its use, you should look into all the available affordable bathtubs. This may not be the cheapest idea on this list, but it’s up to you to decide whether it’s necessary. And, if you pick your new tub properly, this will be a long-term investment with a positive impact on your bathroom design.

Once you have your main aspects of the bathroom taken care of, don’t forget to add some extra fun to the project. You can get really affordable accessories such as mats, curtains, toilet seat and washing machine covers, small plants and picture frames, interesting bathroom mirror, new light shades, cool containers for your beauty products, etc. that will make this space look very personal, pleasant and relaxing.
